RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has said that the future of Pakistan can only be secured through an educated and passionate youth.
“It is imperative for us to raise the youth’s potential to the optimal level such that they could measure up to the challenges of today and tomorrow,” Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) – the military’s media wing – quoted the army chief as saying on Thursday.
The COAS made the statements while inaugurating a newly constructed building of Cadet College Spinkai in South Waziristan.
According to the ISPR, the college is one of the many institutions being built in the remote areas of FATA ‘to hone our bright children’.
Addressing the local tribesmen, the COAS paid tributes to the troops and valiant tribes for successfully fighting against terrorists. He said the international community acknowledged Pakistan’s contribution it the fight against terror.
The general thanked the tribesmen for donating land to build the college, and expressed gratitude to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for financing the project.
