LAHORE: Punjab University’s (PU) Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) was sealed on Thursday evening after being vandalised by students.
Reportedly, a student organisation stormed the department and harassed those inside including students. Sources have reported that women students were cross-questioned while some male students were manhandled.
Intervention of guards came to no use against threats of the culprits. However, police have stated that some students who were involved in vandalism and harassment were detained inside the department.
PU Vice-Chancellor Mujahid Kamran had held Islami Jamiat Tulaba (IJT) responsible for violence at the campus and quoted statistics that pointed out IJT triggered almost all the incidents of violence.
