ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Excise and Taxation Department launched an online vehicle token tax payment service integrating technology to facilitate the citizens.
The Online Token Tax System will help the Excise and Taxation Department to achieve revenue targets on time.
The owners of the vehicles can pay the tax from anywhere with convenience.
Now, people will not have to visit the Excise office physically, as they can use the online system and pay the tax which will be received by all branches of the National Bank of Pakistan. In this regard, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) had been inked between the Excise & Taxation Department Islamabad and the NBP in October.
The information regarding the new online service was given in a ceremony conducted by the Excise and Taxation Department. Director Excise and Taxation, Bilal Azam, stated that an online system had been set in place for the token tax payments and vehicle registration. In the near future, a mobile application can also be used to make these payments to the Excise and Taxation Department. This online service is particularly beneficial for those who are living outside of Islamabad and cannot come to the Federal Capital to make the token tax payments.
