KARACHI: The family of Nabeel Hoodbhoy who was shot down by police a week ago asked a high-level inquiry of the incident and argued to the power holders to hang the culprit till death.
“I want an eye for an eye. I don’t want to see another mother lose her son in the same fashion in the hand of the same killers (police)”. His mother said.
At Karachi Press Club, while talking, Nabeel Hoodbhoy’s mother and sister along their lawyer urged to Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, Justice Asif Khosa, Prime Minister Imran Khan to look after the case with immediate effect.
“Give me my son back or give me justice. I will not forgive anyone,” said the upset mother.
Remember, Nabeel was their only son.
Nabeel’s mother further stated, however, his child was a British citizenship holder, regardless she didn’t look for help from the United Kingdom since she accepts here in Pakistan the definitive will support them. It is relevant to share here Nabeel’s family were abroad at the hour of the upset incident.
Over the inquiry of the case, Nabeel’s mother gave her un-satisfaction.
“Police is not assisting us,” she said.
Apparently, in a space of seven days, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Governor Imran Ismail, and Inspector General (IG) Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam of Sindh have taken notice of the incident, respectively; but haven’t been seen any tangible move yet in the case. Other than the three police group: Sub-Inspector Abdul Ghaffar, Head Constable Aftab, and Constable Mohammed Ali Shah were arrested under a First investigation report (FIR) of Sections 302 (premeditated murder), 324 (attempted murder), 427 (mischief) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
On November 22 at 4 am, Nabeel Hoodbhoy was being murdered and his companion Imam Raza got wound in the hand of Karachi police when Nabeel parked his vehicle at Raza’s home close to Cantt station.
The furious occurrence had stimulated from a checkpoint at Khayaban-e-Mujahid, when a police group halted Nabeel and Imam, to take a nap check; however both had been uncovered their destination to the police group, yet when police asked them to on the indoor lights of the vehicle: they took off on the grounds that they had a beer “we had a cane of beer in our car,” said Imam.— on which Imam asked Nabeel for what valid reason he had done as such, to which Nabeel answered that “it is the only way to deal with the police”.
After allegedly firing at Nabeel and Imam, police flew away —without conforming their death or informing any officer what they have done. Thus, a gap of an hour, Imam’s relatives rescued them, but Nabeel had been expired before shifting to nearby Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
