Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto on Wednesday said his party is striving for the rule of law and constitution in the country. Two different delegations of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and removed local government representatives from Lahore, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Multan and Rawalpindi called on Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto at Zardari House in Islamabad on Wednesday.

The delegation of SCBA was led by newly elected president Syed Kalb-e-Hassan. The SCBA thanked the PPP chief for his party’s support in the recently held elections. Ahsan Bhon and Abid Saqi were also present in the meeting. Bilawal, while talking to the delegation, asked the bar councils to play their role for human rights and the rule of law and constitution in the country because this is the only way to deal with the problems faced by the people. He said every institution including parliament, judiciary and armed forces should work within their domains.

Talking to the removed local government representatives, Bilawal said the local bodies were dissolved in an undemocratic way. He said the local governments in Hyderabad and Karachi are anti-PPP but the Sindh government has not interfered with them. “Imran Khan is a selected and weak prime minister who does not tolerate political opposition,” he said. Nayyar Bukhari, Qamar Zaman Kaira and Chaudhry Manzoor were also present on the occasion.
