Pakistan Welfare Towns (PWTs) is a revolutionary welfare initiative of the National Assembly speaker and the Pakistan Air Force. It aims at providing state-of-the-art health, education and recreational facilities to the marginalised community of Pakistan under one roof. The major components of the project includes day and boarding schools, colleges, universities, vocational training centers, widow and senior citizens shelter homes, hospitals, mosques and sports complexes.
Pakistan Welfare Towns will cater to the needs of special, street, orphan and abandoned children besides the widows, transgender and senior citizens of the country. The pilot project of the initiative is successfully operating and providing all the aforementioned facilities to the people in Tando Allahyar district of Sindh named as Pakistan Welfare Town, Rashidabad.
For Pakistan Welfare Town Alamabad the speaker has donated the land of around 1,000 kanals and for the support of the said project, he has held numerous meetings with all the relevant philanthropist organizations, national and international NGOs and government bodies working on the similar lines, which has resulted into the expansion and timely construction of the work. The estimated time for the completion of project is five years.
