KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples’ Party Sindh chapter’s newly appointed president Nisar Ahmed Khuhro termed his selection as a “choice of workers”.

Addressing to the welcome ceremony at Peoples’ secretariat here on Friday, Khuhro said there was a perception that PPP appoint leaders on the will of its leadership but now it has been proved that we prefer opinions of our workers and supporters.

Khuro said that the politics of prejudice have ruined peace and prosperity of Karachi. “We would unite all citizens of Sindh without any religion, caste, or gender discrimination,” he vowed.

He criticized the federal government’s decision to shift four departments of the State Bank to Punjab and said that after ruining Pakistan Steel Mills and K-Electric now the central government wants to destroy SBP.

“This is happening for the first time that SBP is being shifted to Lahore, not Islamabad,” he said. He assured the activists of the party that PPP Karachi’s body would be appointed according to their will.

It is to be noted that the said event was extremely mismanaged and Khuhro had to stop his speech twice while the leaders of the party seemed helpless.
