Sir: I am a student of university student in Karachi. I would like to draw the attention of authorities towards a very serious issue that is prevalent in our society for quite a long time. Use of drugs is very common nowadays, but since the past few years, the trend has been on the rise especially in the youth.
Universities and colleges have become thriving markets for drug dealers. Use of drugs in movies and TV shows is further aggravating the situation as the youth considers its use as normal.
According to a recently published study, 47 percent of people aged between 18-24 agreed that movies and TV shows make drugs seem like an acceptable thing to do. I request through this newspaper that concerned authorities should take this into consideration and serious actions should be taken against drug peddlers and dealers.
