Truck driver dies during protest against motorway police

MIRPUR KHAS: A local truck driver – Abbas Multani – lost his life during a sit-in protest of transporters here at the Super Highway against the Motorway Police and the toll plaza staff for demanding excessive tax.

The Transporters Association led by Akbar Khan and others had a sit-in protest on the Super Highway and said that they load construction material but the toll plaza staff rather taking Rs 500 rupees tax asks for Rs 2500 while Rs 380 instead of Rs 150 rupees are taken for royalty. The transporters warned that if their demands were not fulfilled within a day, they would block the super highway. On the occasion, a truck driver named Abbas Multani lost his life due to heart attack during the protest.
