Karachi: Ameer Jamat-i-Islami Karachi, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman in a statement has said that recent revelations by National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) in its report has authenticated their allegations against K-Electric.
There has been no improvement in the capacity of K-E for generating electricity to facilitate its consumers who are been fed-up with prolonged load shedding in the city. “The problem of shortage of electricity would not be resolved until K-E makes its all power plants operational”, he observed.
“All-out efforts are being made for the recovery of bills by K-E but no attention is being paid for the betterment of its services as per the needs of its consumers”, he alleged.
It’s the responsibility of the government and NEPRA to take action against K-E for the violation of terms and conditions of the agreement and must be charged accordingly, he demanded. “K-E has looted billions of rupees from the public without improving its own capacity”, he alleged adding that people must be given their plundered money back.
