SCCI calls on Iranian traders to invest in KP

ISLAMABAD: Iran’s business community has been invited to invest in different sectors of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) President Haji Mohammad Afzal extended the invitation during a meeting with the Iranian Consul General – Mohammad Baqir Begi, according to IRNA.

He said that the Iranian business community could invest in power generation, gems, jewellery, marbles, medicines, petrochemicals and the oil sectors of the province. Both sides on the occasion have also agreed to exchange delegations of businessmen and make joint efforts to increase the trade volume.

Baqir Begi – while expressing his views – said that Iran wanted to join the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and negotiations for the purpose were also in progress. He further said that Iran would issue multiple visas to the traders’ representatives on the chamber’s recommendations.
