Dengue cases rise with 171 new patients in 24 hours in Karachi

As many as 171 more dengue fever cases were reported throughout Karachi megacity in last 24-hours, taking the reported cases’ toll to 13,015 since 1st January 2019. Spokesman Prevention and Control Program for Dengue (PCPD) Sindh, while talking to PPI, informed that at least 183 new dengue fever cases emerged across the Sindh province in a day, out of which 171 were reported in Karachi and 12 in other districts. A total 34 people had been died due to dengue fever in Sindh government and private sector health facilities of the city this year so far. In November, a total of 4,429 dengue positive cases confirmed throughout the province out of which 4,039 were confirmed from Karachi and 390 from other districts. In 2019, a total of 13,983 dengue cases were detected in Sindh province so far out of which, 13,015 happened in Karachi and 968 in other districts.
