Sir: The Kashmir conflict has been going on for many decades, however, this festering and dangerous conflict still remains unresolved and continues to cause hostility between Pakistan and India. Both countries have fought four wars in the last seven decades, causing a significant loss of precious lives and resources.
The situation seems to be turning for the worse with each passing day in the wake of recent unrest in the valley. I plead the international community especially peacekeeping organisations to arbitrate in the conflict and put an end to these battles pitting armed forces against civilian protestors in Kashmir. The tragedy has already caused 87 civilians deaths, blinding another 300 and injuring more than 11000 this year alone.
Let us strive to achieve peace so that Kashmiris as well as those living in Pakistan and India, can live in peace.
