Sir: All governments should develop education on a priority basis to ensure that their countries’ futures remain safe. However, not much attention is being shown by the Pakistani government in this regard.
Instead of working on many glaring shortcomings in the infrastructure, political elements often advance short-term campaigns to complement their own agendas. Poor budgetary allocation remains the key cause behind many of the sector’s problems. Government should open a greater number of schools across the country with a functioning well-trained staff; only then can education actually reach all nooks of the country. A unified standard of education that allows all students to benefit from available facilities to pursue learning is the only solution that can guarantee success in both short and long term. Pakistan should pay heed to these words of Benjamin Franklin, “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.”
