CDA demotes BS-14 official on charges of having fake degree

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has demoted its official from BS-14 to BS-04 on possessing fabricated educational certificate. The official, Muhammad Saleem, was working as Senior Technician BS-14 in CARES Directorate and now has been demoted to BS-04 as mate.

The penalty has been imposed upon the official after completion of disciplinary proceeding in terms of clause 8.03 (a : b) of CDA Employees (Service) Regulation, 1992 on possessing fabricated educational certificate, a show cause notice was served upon the accused official accordingly.

The official submitted reply in his defines, which was considered by Authorized Officer i.e Director General (Admin), CDA and offered an opportunity of personal hearing to accused official.

After considering all aspects of the case, written as well as statement given by accused official during personal hearing and the recommendations of Authorized Officer i.e. Director General (Administration), CDA the Competent Authority i.e Member (Administration), CDA has therefore, imposed major penalty of “Reduction to lower post” i.e from Senior Technician (BS-14) to Mate BS-04, with immediate effect as laid down in Regulation 8.04 (1)(b:i) of CDA Employees (Service) Regulation, 1992. The official has been given right of appeal as admissible under CDA Employees (Service) Regulation, 1992. Consequent upon imposition of major penalty, the official has been relieved from his duties as senior technician and has been further directed to report to HRD Directorate, CDA.
