LARKANA: The 5th death anniversary of Begum Nusrat Bhutto, wife of former prime minister Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, was observed on Sunday.

Qura’an khawani and fateha khawani were held in various parts of the country.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders and workers paid tribute to Begum Nusrat Bhutto for her services for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan and for protecting democracy in the country.

Qura’an khawani was held at the Bhutto House Naudero (Larkana). MPA Muhammad Ali Bhutto, MPA Khursheed Ahmed Junejo, Khair Muhammad Shaikh, Abdul Fateh Bhutto, Aijaz Ahmed Leghari, Muhammad Saleem Soomro, Ghulam Mustafa Leghari and Nooruddin Abro as well as Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) workers participated.

Tauqeer Fatima Bhutto, Apa Nasibaan Channa, Faryal Brohi, Dr Sakina Gaad, Basheeraan Mohil, Saira Katpar, Kalsoom Khatoon and women workers were also present. Prayers were also offered for the departed soul.

The participants recited the Holy Quran and prayed to Allah Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul.

They also prayed for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan and Muslims.

MPA Khursheed Ahmed Junejo, MPA Muhammad Ali Bhutto, Khair Muhammad Shaikh, Abdul FatehBhutto, Aijaz Ahmed Leghari, Muhammad Saleem Soomro, Ghulam Mustafa Leghari, Nooruddin Abro, Mazhar Ali Junejo, Tauqeer Fatima Bhutto, Apa Nasibaan Channa, Faryal Brohi, Dr Sakina Gaad, Basheeraan Mohil, Saira Katpar, Kalsoom Khatoon, PPP workers, also visited the grave of Begum Nusrat Bhutto and placed floral wreaths and offered fateha.

They also visited graves of Shaheed Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and others.

PPP workers and leaders also arrived in Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto from various parts of Sindh and laid floral wreaths and offered fateha.

Qura’an Khwani was also held at Al Murtaza House Larkana. The event had been arranged by Pakistan People’s Party Shaheed Bhutto Larkana district.

Prayers were also offered for the departed souls of Begum Nusrat Bhutto, Mir Murtaza Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.

PPP Shaheed Bhutto leaders and workers also visited Garhi Khuda Bux to offer fateha and place floral wreaths on the grave of Begum Nusrat Bhutto.

Strict security arrangements had been made on the occasion and contingents of Sindh Police and Rangers were deployed.
