Opp leader demands Karachi’s share

KARACHI: Leader of Opposition in Sindh Assembly Khawaja Izharul Hassan has said that discriminations by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) should come to an end and Karachi must be given its due share in the budget.

While criticising the ruling party in Sindh, MQM leader told journalists at the Sindh Assembly here on Monday that only few jobs were given to the candidates from the urban Sindh, as more than 250,000 jobs had been given during the last nine years in complete disregard to the urban areas.

“PPP sold orders of jobs to its activists while following its prejudiced policies,” he said, adding that the ruling party has been ignoring the urban areas of the province. “We have devised a strategy to raise our voice against these discriminations,” he said. He also said that Karachi was the economical hub of Pakistan but the Sindh government has allocated only 12 billion rupees for this mega city, which is unjust.

“PPP has started the trend of fake domiciles to appoint candidates from rural areas on the urban quota,” he said. MPA Faisal Sabzwari seconded him by saying the urban Sindh has been.
