QUETTA: Army chief General Raheel Sharif arrived in Quetta on Tuesday, hours after terrorists stormed a police training centre killing at least 60 security personnel, ISPR reported.
The army chief, who was accompanied by DG ISI Lt-Gen Rizwan Akhtar and DG MI Major General Nadeem Zaki Manj, visited the police training college where he was given detailed briefing on terror attack.
The army chief also met police officials, army and Frontier Corps troops who carried out the operation last night to clear the area and eliminate the attackers.
COAS appreciated the morale, courage and determination of security personnel for preventing further damage and saving several lives. According to reports, General Raheel will chair a high-level security meeting during his visit. He will also go to the hospital to visit the injured.
Gen Raheel, along with Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti, Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Zehri and several others, attended the funeral prayers of those killed in the attack.
