Karachi mayor seeks bail to develop city

KARACHI: Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar on Tuesday requested a local court to grant him bail, so that he could launch development projects in the metropolis.

Talking to media outside anti-terrorism court (ATC), Waseem alleged that 20 fake cases were registered against him in one day. The mayor expressed satisfaction over the leadership of Farooq Sattar and also lauded efforts of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. He also demanded the authorities to take notice of forged cases against him.

He said that it was possible that he made mistakes in the past, but now is the time to move forward. Waseem has been sent to Central Jail Karachi. There are many cases lodged against him.
