UBG lauds govt decision to refund sales tax

KARACHI: United Business Group (UBG) chief spokesman Gulzar Firoz has said that the efforts of Secretary General Zubair Tufail brought result and the minister of finance announced that the sales tax refund would be paid to the tune of Rs 30 billion by October 31.

The minister also announced that the income tax refund would also be paid by December 31 of this year.

Gulzar Firoz and Chairman of FPCCI’s Standing Committee on “Textile Apparel” and member of UBG’s Core Committee, Naqi Bari, also highly appreciated the efforts of Zubair Tufail in resolving the pending rebate issue.

They said that on the directions of Chairman Iftikhar Ali Malik and Patron-in-Chief

S M Munir, Zubair Tufail regularly visited Islamabad at his own expenses and persuaded the Ministry of Finance to give the refunds to exporters to ease the liquidity crunch they were facing.
