Gallantry award for martyred captain

ISLAMABAD: Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif on Tuesday announced awards for two soldiers for their valiant action during the terrorist attack on Quetta police training centre. “Having neutralised one suicide bomber, the two security personnel cornered the second bomber, helping a large number of police recruits escape.

Shaheed Capt Roohallah has been awarded Tamgha-e-Jurat and Naib Subedar Muhammad Ali, who was injured, has been awarded Tamgha-e-Basalat,” ISPR spokesman Lt Gen Asim Salim Bajwa said. Earlier, the COAS had visited the police training centre. Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) DG Lt Gen Rizwan Akhtar, Military Intelligence DG Maj Gen Nadeem Zaki Manj also accompanied him. Gen Raheel Sharif met army and FC personnel who had taken part in the operation. He praised their bravery and said that terrorists would not be allowed to succeed in their nefarious designs. Gen Raheel Sharif, along with the Balochistan CM and the Home Department minister, attended the funeral prayers of victims of the attack. Later, he visited the CMH, Quetta and inquired after the health of the injured cadets. by our special correspondent
