Four killed in exchange of fire

MANSEHRA: Four people were killed during an exchange of fire at the Pales area of Kohistan on Tuesday.The incident happened in Shell Khanabad area of Pales Tehsil of Kohistan when two groups exchanged heavy fire as a result of which Siri Khan and his two sons Mohammad Ilyas and Gulzada Khan and the head of the rival family Abdul Qayyum were killed.

The bloody exchange of firing continued for many hours and stopped after the police rushed over to the respective families after the doctors performed the autopsy to the scene and shifted the bodies to the civil hospital in Puttan.

Mohammad Zaman, head constable at Pales Police Station told reporters that four people, two each from both the families were arrested.

He said that Malik Sard and Mohammad Nisar of Abdul Qayyum and Mullah Khan and Abdul Wadood of Siri khan family were arrested.

According to the police a son of Siri Khan had married the daughter of Abdul Qayyum some two years ago and fled the area where two members of their family were also killed last year. Mr Zaman said that after lodging an FIR he started investigation to ensure more arrests to avoid more bloodshed.
