Protest held to condemn Quetta attack

LAHORE: Members of the Rwadari Tehreek staged a protest demonstration in front of the Punjab Assembly to condemn the attack on police training centre in Quetta and expressed solidarity with the families of all those who lost their lives in the tragic incident.

People from different religions and walks of life participated in the protest held by Rwadari Tehreek. The participants expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives in Quetta carnage in which 61 lost their lives while 124 injured according to media reports. Prominent members and Office bearers of Rwadari Tehreek including president Abdullah Malik, Asmat Sabira, Komal Patras, Rizwan Gill Advocate, Samuel Pyara, Naseer Ahmed, Shah Fahad, Farman Ali, Shahzad Bajeer, Rashida Parveen, Roheena Ali Shah participated in the demonstration. Participants of the protest demonstration condemned the terrorist attack in strongest words and termed it a failure and negligence of the government. Speaking on the occasion, the Rawadari Tehreek chairman said,

“The attack on police academy has added to the miseries of the people of Balochistan and we extend our solidarity with them and ensure that we stand united with the brothers and sisters living in Balochistan in this time of sorrow and grief.” The participants demanded the government to arrest the culprits behind the killing of young policemen without any delay. The said access of the militants to educational institutions should also be checked and banned. “All those laws which are being misused to instigate people for violence in society should be revised. The government, media, civil society and other stakeholders should initiate awareness campaigns to promote religious tolerance amongst the people, especially among the youth,” they added.
