Faysal Qureshi is known for his versatility as he has been seen on TV playing a range of different personalities. He was raised in an environment, which encouraged acting, as his mother Afshan Qureshi is a famous film actress herself.
Faysal began his career as a child artist and appeared in PTV’s play ‘Emergency Ward’ and ‘Andera Ujala’. As a television actor he made his first debut in 1992 film ‘Saza’. He starred in nineteen more films and after a four-year journey in the film industry, he quit to pursue his career as a full-time television actor.
Qureshi played several minor roles before landing a lead such as Boota in ‘Toba Tek Singh’. His sheer commitment is highlighted as he takes every role seriously and has collaborated with various networks. Bashir Moman, Toba Tek Singh, Muskarati Morning, Saza, Nange pao are just to name a few of his well-known accomplishments.
He has also received a number of awards for his captivating roles, which includes his most recent win at the TV Kahani Gold Awards for ‘Best TV Actor (Satellite)’ for Main Abdul Qadir Hoon.
“I never wanted to be a hero. I’ve always wanted to be first and foremost, an actor”, Faysal has stated numerous times about his career.
“The thought of becoming a director or producer, has never appealed to me. I still feel I have far to go as far as acting is concerned,” said Faysal
Today this talented individual turns 43 and we will celebrate this day by sitting back and re-watching his old sitcoms. We wish Faysal Qureshi a very happy birthday and hope he can bestow us with more of his enthralling shows in the near future!
