Anees Janjua was appointed as manager Metro Bus Service Lahore to keep the route clean, but due to his nonprofessional attitude toward his subordinates, cleanliness situation is being suffered badly.
Prior to his recent appointment, he was working as manager admin. Sources said that, due to his poor performance, the then LWMC managing director Ajmal Bhatti transferred him at Metro Bus a couple of months ago. “Since Janjua was appointed as manager of Metro Bus Service a couple of months before, dozens of complaints have been lodged against him for his rude behaviour and inhumane conduct with junior staff, particularly sanitary workers,” they said.
According to an application of female sanitary worker Sumaira Nadeem of LWMC, addressing to Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, she was terminated by Janjua unlawfully. She stated that she got approval of her urgent leaves due to illness of her daughter from previous manager but when she returned to resume her duty new manager refused to let her work. She also wrote applications to commissioner Lahore, MD LWMC and higher officials of Punjab Mass Transit Authority (PMA). Over her applications, Commissioner Lahore and PMA General Manager Operations requested LWMC MD to redress the grievances of Sumaira Nadeem. She also alleged that Janjua had been asking her to pay her money in bribe.
Moreover, almost all the zonal officers and supervisors lodged an application against Janjua with their signatures to LWMC MD which was further forwarded to CM Complaint Cell, Commissioner Lahore, Deputy Commissioner Lahore and Secretary Local Government. In their applications, complainants wrote that the said manager was manipulating his authority by causing hurdle for staff in the line of duty. They have deeply expressed their grave concerns while requesting high officials to transfer Janjua so that they can perform their duties up to the mark.
Talking to Daily Times, LWMC spokesman Khawar Jamil said that they will deal the issue according to law. “Soon an inquiry committee will be constituted to probe into the matter and it will make decision on merit,” he asserted.
