Stabilising economy of Pakistan

Author: Daily Times

Sir: The proclamation by International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief Christine Lagarde that Pakistan has come out of economic crisis and economy of the country is stabilising is welcoming.

For the war-torn economy of Pakistan, completion of IMF programme has helped the country not only in restoring its macro-economic stability but also attaining a better and solid economic position. The credit for this certainly goes to the government whose endless efforts have resulted in gradual increase in economic growth, reduction in fiscal deficit along with decline in inflation. All this has become possible due to administrative reforms, tax policies, and strengthening of social security nets by the government. It is hoped that due to consolidation of country’s economy Pakistan would start making progress by leaps and bounds.
