New feature on WhatsApp’s Android version

Author: Web Desk
WhatsApp has begun to turn on the fingerprint functionality that it has tested as beta for all Android users. Approximately 8 months after the iPhone from Android function, bio metric security functions Android users offer.

‘Fingerprint lock’ Function WhatsApp’of Androidcomes with version 2.1.222 and offers a similar security capability to WhatApp on iOS. iPhone users could benefit from Touch ID and Face ID support for WhatsApp.

According to Chip.com.tr, support for Android allows logging in with only fingerprints. The company did not give a clue as to whether the face unlock function will come in the future.

When the function is activated, others who have received the phone cannot open WhatsApp and view messages easily.

This requires a registered fingerprint scan, but incoming WhatsApp calls can be answered without a fingerprint scan.

Notably, the update doesn’t appear to be available in all regions just yet, but once it arrives, WhatsApp says you’ll be able to toggle on the extra security from within the app’s Privacy settings menu. There are options to let the app remain unlocked for one or 30 minutes after you unlock it, and there’s also a toggle to prevent the contents of your messages from appearing in notifications.
