CTD shot dead five terrorists in Gujranwala encounter

GUJRANWALA: Counter Terrorism Department shot dead five terrorists in an encounter at Gujranwala’s Wapda Town, a private news channel reported on Saturday morning.

The law enforcement personnel carried out a raid at Wapda Town after receiving information regarding presence of terrorists in the area. The terrorists opened fire at the CTD officials as they tried to escape from the scene. An exchange of fire took place between the attackers and the anti-terror squad in which five of the terrorists were killed.

Three terrorists managed to evade the area. Police seized a kalashnikov, two pistols, hand grenades and different kinds of explosive material from the slain terrorists. CTD spokesman said that the terrorists were planning to carry out a major terrorist attack in the city.
