Khawaja Asif rejects opp’s claims of ‘fleeing Pakistan’

ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has denied the rumours that he has fled the country to avoid the governments’ action over a high-level civil-military leadership meeting’s leak.

His tweet came shortly after Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid was sacked to pave way for a transparent probe into a ‘fabricated story’ about a national security meeting.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rashid said that ‘Khawaja Asif fled to Dubai to avert the action over the security meeting’s leak’.

“I came to Dubai with my family to attend a wedding and will be back by tomorrow morning,” Asif said – rejecting all the claims of him fleeing the country.
