ISLAMABAD: Former president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari called for strict action against people responsible for leaking the news story concerning national security, a private news channel reported.

Zardari said that national security can tolerate no compromises, adding that the country has to be taken out of this prevailing crisis. Zardari made this statement while meeting ex-interior minister Rehman Malik.

In the meeting, both, the former interior minister and Zardari, expressed concern on the deteriorating situation of the country and condemned the attacks on Quetta police academy – an attack that killed 62 police officers – and the attack on a majlis in Karachi –that killed five people.

The ex-president said that indiscriminative action needs to be taken against those responsible for the attacks.
