On Thursday, 106-meter tall Arfa Software Technology Park (ASTP) was illuminated by beautiful pink lights to mark October as the breast cancer awareness month.
The illumination was a part of Pink Ribbon’s annual breast cancer awareness organized by Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) in collaboration with Information Technology University Punjab (ITU), Shaukat Khanam Memorial Hospital (SKMCH) and Pink Ribbon.
Earlier, on 4 October, Minar-e-Pakistan turned pink to raise awareness for breast cancer. The event was part of the PINKtober campaign organized by Pink Ribbon.
During the third T20I between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore turned pink to raise awareness about breast cancer.
The pink illumination will give awesome visual reminder that every woman should be aware of breast cancer because a lack of information ultimately leads to failure in early diagnosis.
Notably, the Pink Ribbon Hospital is under construction. The hospital, the first facility of its kind in Pakistan, will be a state-of-the-art medical facility. Once constructed, it will serve more than 40,000 patients annually. The hospital will be partially operational by June 2020.
