KARACHI: Despite the clear directives by ministry of interior, to suspend Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)’s Deputy Director Nawaz-ul-Haq an officer of grade 18, due to his corruption, he is still working on the same positions and the inquiry against him has also been halted .
The ministry of interior, government of Pakistan had suspended the services of FIA Deputy Director Nawaz-ul-Haq on 20th of October and had posted Mr Shahid Iqbal Gondal on his position . Nawaz is one of the six FIA officials who were found involved in the smuggling of 350 Pakistanis from Islamabad Airport to Libya with fake visas. Nawaz has also been involved in sending people to Sudan and Uganda on fictisious Visas . It is alleged that he has taken bribe in the amount of millions for this faclitation directly and through other officers of FIA. Nawaz had also been using the authority of Director admin illegally during his posting in Islamabad .
In a letter issued by the section officer, FIA establishment division, Yawar Hussain Rana had directed the concerened authorities to take action against Nawaz-ul-Haq. “An action in pursuance of Rule5 (i) of government servants (Efficiency & Discipline) 1973, must be taken against Nawaz-ul-Haq,” the letter stated.
According to FIA sources, around 350 Pakistanis were smuggled to Libyafrom Islamabad Airport between June and August, 2016 with the help of FIA personnel including FIA Deputy Director Nawaz-ul-Haq. Later, FIA launched an investigation and found that he and five other officials were involved in the smuggling case. It is learnet throuh reliable sources that Nawaz-ul-Haq has fullfledged support of the DG FIA Mohammad Amalaish and he has been useing his name freqently to keep the other officers under this thum during his postings at different positions .
Despite clear instruction by ministry of interior for his removal, he is not only working on his position, but also enjoying all the fringe benefits.
