SWABI: The make-shift stage which Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervaiz Khattak was using to address a gathering of workers collapsed in Swabi, a private news channel reported.

The chief minister was not hurt during the incident. Several party workers were on stage with Khattak therefore the weight could not be supported. The make-shift stage was built on top of a vehicle which is part of the chief minister’s convoy as he heads to Islamabad.

“How dare you block the way from our province? Is section 144 for only PTI,” the chief minister asked. Khattak addressed workers after the stage collapse, stating that oppressors had blocked roads. “I will lodge an FIR against Chaudhry Nisar, Shehbaz Sharif and Nawaz Sharif if my workers are harmed,” he said.

“Show me the law which makes it legal to block roads,” Khattak added. Khattak is leading a rally from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Bani Gala and has warned the ruling party against cutting off KP from Pakistan by blocking roads and stopping PTI workers from reaching Islamabad.

Pervaiz Khattak – while talking to party workers in Nowshera on Sunday – said that PTI will rebel if Nawaz Sharif tries to stop his party workers. “You have challenged Pathans, we will respond befittingly if you try to stop us,” he said. He also said that he will arrive in Islamabad on Monday at 10 AM, adding that he knows everyone who occupies the corridors of power.

CM KPK said that Imran Khan has all the rights to shut down Islamabad because he is a citizen of Pakistan too. “Nobody should even think of harming Imran Khan,” he warned. Criticising PML-N for its alleged corruption, Khattak said he feels ashamed to see how the country is being looted. This country is not for thieves and robbers, he added.

Earlier on Sunday – talking to the media outside his Bani Gala residence – Imran Khan reiterated his resolve to shut down Islamabad on November 2 and instructed all party workers throughout the country to reach Bani Gala ahead of the planned November 2 lockdown of the capital, to join him ahead of the party’s ‘show of force.’
