Bandits attack policemen

SHIKARPUR: Bandits attacked a police party here on Friday night, but there were no casualties. Two policemen were patrolling on a motorcycle when unidentified armed men tortured them and snatched their weapons including SMG, Kalashnikov, and a government issued motorcycle.

According to SHO Mehmoob Bagh Police Station, Irshad Langh, a few unidentified armed men attacked the patrolling cops, Mazhar Ali Kalhoro, head constable and Israr Ali Abro police constable and snatched their Sub-Machine Gun [SMG], Kalashnikov and motorcycle and fled from the scene of the crime.

Following on the information, Shikarpur police besieged the area near Shahpur bungalow katcha area of Mehmoob Bagh Town, when the armed criminals saw that police party was coming towards them they jumped into a water channel and managed to escape leaving behind looted SMG, Kalashnikov and Motorcycle, SHO added.
