Cabinet swells to 34 as one more minister takes oath

LAHORE: It seems that the Punjab government has develop a penchant of inducting more and more ministers into the provincial cabinet the strength of which rose to 34 on Saturday after acting Punjab Governor Rana Muhammad Iqbal administered oath to MPA Dr Mukhtar Ahmed Bharat as a new minister.

In November 2016, the Punjab government inducted 11 ministers into the provincial cabinet. Those earlier inducted included Sheikh Allauddin from Kasur, Jehangir Khanzada from Attock, Amanatullah Khan Shadi Khel from Mianwali, Khawaja Salman Rafique from Lahore, Khawaja Imran Nazir from Lahore, Muhammad Manshaullah Butt from Sialkot, Mehr Ijaz Ahmed Achlana from Layyah, Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri from Lahore, Muhammad Naeem Akhtar Khan Bhabha from Vehari, Syed Raza Ali Gillani from Bahawalpur, Malik Ahmed Yar Hanjra from Muzaffargarh and a female minister Naghma Mushtaq from Multan.
