KARACHI: As the security agencies feared rise in terror related incidents and sectarian killings two members of Ahle Sunnat Waljamat were targeted by unknown miscreants on Saturday in Korangi Area where one died on the spot while other one was critically injured.

As per the details four gunmen on two motorcycles opened fire on two members of ASWJ leaving one dead and the other injured.

The incident happened in the remit of Korangi crossing area in the jurisdiction of Korangi Industrial area police station.

After the information of incident the rescue workers reached the spot with the area police team and shifted the body and injured to Jinah Hospital. Deceased was identified as Hafiz Adnan borther of Qari Rizwan who is a local leader of AWSJ unit Syedna Osman Ghani Veta Chorangi area Korangi while the injured was identified as Qari Ashraf a friend of Hafiz Adnan and a member of AWSJ.

According to the police both were the residents of Korangi area and were targeted by miscreants after chasing them when they were returning from Sadar area to their homes.

According to the police this was the incident of pure secretion target killing to disturb the peace of the city and to provoke more secretion incidents committed by an banned outfit.

After the incident tension mounted in the area where police and Ranger personal were deputed to maintain law and order as the Nazmaz-e-Janza of deceased was offered after the Asar prayer. Police team collected the empty shells of bullets form the spot for forensic investigation and registered initial report in police station.
