ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday met with Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar to discuss matters related to political and security situation of the country.
According to sources, the controversial news story by an English newspaper about alleged civil-military rift also came under discussion in the meeting.
Consultation was also held over the formation of an investigation committee to probe into the matter, sources said and added that a civil officer will be handed over the task to head the investigation committee.
The meeting comes following Nisar’s press conference after the information minister’s sacking – in which Nisar had said that the former minister should have made sure that the controversial story should not have been published. He also said that the journalist behind the false story should be made answerable before nation.
