Road accident leaves six labourers dead in Layyah

Six labourers died while 15 others were injured when a Toyota Hiace overturned on Friday, rescue sources said. According to details, the passenger vehicle was carrying 23 labourers to Kot Sultan for cultivation of potato crop. The vehicle reportedly got out of control due to speeding and overturned after hitting a building on Jaisal Road near Makhni Morr in Chak No 164-TDA, Kot Sultan.

Five labourers died on the spot, while 16 others were seriously injured in the accident.

The Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the scene and started rescue activities. The injured were shifted to District Hospital Layyah, where another labourer succumbed to his wounds, taking the death toll to six. According to hospital sources, some of the injured labourers were still fighting for their lives.

In yet another tragic incident, four people were killed when a truck carrying stones overturned and fell onto their car in Kandhkot.

Four PPL employees also lose their lives in separate accident in Kashmore

The incident happened due to the bad condition of the road near Rano Stop in Sindh’s Kashmore district, rescue sources said.

The fully loaded truck rolled over and landed on top of the car, resulting in the deaths of four people on the spot. The rescue team rushed to the scene and removed the bodies from the car.

All four deceased were the employees at Pakistan Petroleum Limited and were on their way to the office, while the truck was travelling from Kashmore to Kandhkot for the delivery of stones, the rescue official said.
