ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Saturday sealed the offices of the Ghauri Town Housing Society.

According to details, personnel of the CDA Enforcement Directorate, CDA special magistrate and the SHO of respective police station were present when the offices were sealed.

The operation was supervised by CDA Member Planning and Design and Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad chief Asad Mehboob Kayani.

The authorities said that all the phases of Ghauri Town were illegal. “Raja Ali Akbar and Company and Al Rehman Associates launched the housing scheme without obtaining permission from the CDA,” the authorities said.

Under CDA ICT Zoning Regulation 1992, a private housing society can only be launched in Islamabad Zone 2, 4 and 5 after obtaining NOC from CDA and getting approval of its layout plan.

Sewerage treatment plants: In order to protect Rawal Lake from pollution, the district government has decided to build four sewerage treatment plants.

The project will cost Rs 2.4 billion. The Capital Development Authority, the Water and Sanitation Agency, the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad and the Islamabad Administration will bear the project costs. Links and sewerage treatment plants will be installed and constructed on the seasonal nullahs of Bhara Kahu and one seasonal nullah of Bari Imam so that the polluted water coming from these areas through nullah can be treated.

The PC-1 of the said project has been approved. A meeting about the project was held at Chief Commissioner’s Office. Director Finance Chaudhry Muhammad Ali chaired the meeting.
