KARACHI: The last day of the Fashion Pakistan Week was held on Tuesday at a local hotel, wrapping up the three-day fashion event, attended in full by some of our country’s biggest names in the fashion, film, TV, corporate and media industry. Truly the highlight of Day 3 was when singer and writer Ali Sethi opened the show with his mesmerising vocals

Nida Azwer

Nida Azwer opened Day 1 with her collection titled Alankara. With Ayesha Omar as Nida’s showstopper, the collection saw plenty of drapes, capes, boleros and front-open sequinned knee-length cotton jackets. Nida displayed organza and net saris, with dainty floral embroidery. The colour palette was mainly pastel. Velvet shawls in bold colours atop red lehngas were another addition to Nida’s Alankara.

Republic

Republic Womenswear displayed their Mon Tresor collection. Bringing back their signature silver and metallic shades for couture, the collection was rich in embellishments, sequins and floral embroidery. Mawra Hocane showstopped for Republic wearing an intricate gold bridal. Rehana Saigol designed the gorgeous jewellery for the design house.

Saira Rizwan

Saira Rizwan was up next with her bridal collection for autumn/winter season. With a range of designs for menswear too, Saira displayed a collection depicting a traditional bride laden with red attire and heavyset jewellery. Neelam Munir showstopped for the designer.

Deepak n Fahad

Designer duo Deepak n Fahad were next to showcase their men’s collection which set in a pastel colour palette. Faisal Qureshi and Mohsin Abbas Haider showstopped for the designer duo, looking spiffy in a kurta pyjama and a cream coloured waistcoat. Coats, jackets and embroidered sherwanis were set in a sky blue colour palette.

Rozina Munib

Rozina Munib showcased her Zindagi Ke Rang collection, which was a tribute to Mukhtara Mai. Using a colour palette of off white, silver, light pink and sky blue, Rozina displayed intricate saris with heavily-embellished off shoulder blouses as well as gold cape tops paired with mermaid lehngas. The collection was a perfect tribute to strong women who refuse to give up on their dreams and venture forth despite obstacles. Mukhtara Mai showstopped for the designer clad in a beautiful sky blue sequinned shalwar kamiz.

Nauman Arfeen

Nauman Arfeen closed the last day of FPW Winter Festive ’16 with his collection titled Pukaar. With adorable child models, Nauman stood out for his unique beige and green bridals and khadar sherwani coats. There were no elaborate embroideries or unnecessary tacky embellishments; just simplicity and a casual look to menswear – just the way it should be. Sarwat Gilani and Fahad Mirza showstopped for the designer.
