Train collision: death toll mounts to 21, 40 injured in Karachi

KARACHI: Two trains collided early on Thursday morning near Landi railway station in the southern city of Karachi.

According resources that one of the trains had been given the wrong signal and at least two of the trains’ carriages had overturned following the crash.

Rescue teams have arrived at the site and injured are being shifted to nearby hospitals for immediate treatment. According to reports, several people are still trapped under the wreckage.

All train traffic between Karachi and the rest of the country suspended after the collision.
