Author: Jamal Dawoodpoto

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Sukkur has sent a call up notice to 22 Mukhtiarkars posted across Larkana Division.

In a letter addressed to the commissioner, Larkana Division, the NAB additional director said that with reference to number of complaints received against officers/officials of Revenue Department by NAB Sukkur regarding illegal allotment of government land, forgery in revenue record, demand of bribe for entry in revenue record, non-issuance of sale certificate, etc., the worthy Director General, NAB Sukkur has desired to call all the Mukhtiarkars to discuss the above mentioned issues. These Mukhtiarkar include, Dokri, Bakrani, Larkana, Ratodero, Qambar, Shahdadkot, Warah Miro Khan, Nasirabad, Qubo Saeed Khan, Sajawal, Garhi Yasin, Khanpur, Lakhi, Shikarpur, Garhi Khairo, Jacobabad, Thul, Kandhkot, Kashmore and Tangwani taluka.

The letter further added that all the Mukhtiarkars may be directed to attend meeting at NAB Sukkur on 15th October, 2019 at 12 noon.

It must be added here that lot of land disputes are pending before relevant courts record of most of which has allegedly been hampered and tempered by the concerned revenue department officials. Land is mutated in the name of one person but passbook has been issued to another person which created disputes which also turn into bloodshed. Mukhtiarkars and Tapedars (Patwaris) mostly involved in such forgeries who are demanding huge bribe from the owners everywhere and those who are refusing or unable to pay, record of their lands even ancestral properties is tempered which create lot of issues for the poor land owners who suffer the most at the hands of these revenue officials’ misdeeds. The land owners have demanded that entire land record be made online and those found in corruption should be taken to task with iron hands of law.
