‘Over 300,000 Afghans return to motherland in one year’

KHYBER AGENCY: The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) officials posted at Torkham borderon Friday said that repatriation to Afghanistan was continued via Torkham border.

UNHCR said that during the last one year around 0.3 million Afghan refugees returned to Afghanistan and most Afghan families went back to Afghanistan from the Ningrahar province of eastern Afghanistan. Those returning to Afghanistan were providing financial assistance so that they could purchase daily commodities back in Afghanistan, the statement further said. Authorities at Torkham border confirmed that around five thousands Afghan nationals were returning to Afghanistan every day.
