SHC orders NAB to file reference against Lanjar by 7th Nov

The Sindh High Court (SHC) directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to file reference against former provincial law minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar on Thursday and it also extended his interim bail till the 7th November. A two-member bench of the SHC heard the interim bail plea of Lanjar. At the outset of hearing, a NAB prosecutor sought more time for filing reference against Lanjar and said we have sent a daft to the NAB headquarter. The court directed him to file a reference against Lanjar till the 7th November and submit its report. During the hearing, the counsel for NAB said that Lanjar owned a bungalow in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority area which was not mentioned to the election commission of Pakistan. Besides, the court was informed that Lanjar’s assets were beyond his known means of income. He said Lanjar used to transfer amount of public funds in his accounts though his front men. He said the former minister had embezzled funds of Medical Collage Nawabshah and others funds. An amount of Rs 30 million of public and college funds was transferred to Lanjar’s account.
