Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan makes a surprise call to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid.
Prime Minister Imran Khan made a telephone call to Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday afternoon and exchanged pleasantries.
Bangladesh PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim confirmed the telephonic contact and said Imran Khan inquired about Sheikh Hasina’s health following the recent eye surgery.
She extended thanks to Imran Khan for inquiring about the treatment of her eyes.
Notably, the office of Pakistan’s Premier has yet to issue a statement in this regard.
This comes as a good surprise as in recent past Pakistan and Bangladesh relations have not been so good under premier Sheikh Hasina Wajid.
It is to be noted that Bangladesh’s silence over Kashmir dispute between India and Pakistan is worrisome since the Muslim majority country shares border with two hostile nations.
Bangladesh Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has told his Pakistani counterpart Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi that India’s decisions on Kashmir are purely internal matter when the latter telephoned Momen a month earlier.
