Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar visited the earthquake hit areas of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and District Head Quarter (DHQ) Hospital, Mirpur along with his wife Begum Parveen Sarwar and distributed relief goods of worth 50 million rupees consisting of tents, blankets, and sugar and flour bags.

Sarwar also announced aid for the rehabilitation of houses of earthquake victims. Kashmir is Pakistan’s jugular vein and we are ready to sacrifice our lives for it, he said while talking to the media. Under the leadership of Imran Khan we have unveiled the face of Narendra Modi in front of the whole world, so the opposition can do as it pleases, we will carry on our mission of serving the nation, said Sarwar. According to details, the Punjab governor along with his wife Begum Parveen Sarwar visited the earthquake struck areas of Jatlan, Mirpur Kashmir office and DHQ hospital, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf AJK president and former prime minister Barrister Sultan Mehmood, renowned businessmen Mian Talat, Mian Saeed Derewala, Chaudhry Waheed and other were also present at the occasion. Sarwar distributed Rs 10,000 aid money amongst the injured, Rs 20,000 amongst the families of the deceased and also distributed relief goods amongst the victims of the earthquake. The Punjab Governor was briefed at the Commissioner Office by the Commissioner Chaudhry Muhammad Tayyab, Mirpur District Commissioner (DC) Tahir Mumtaz, Additional DC Raja Qaisar Aurangzeb, Senior Member Board of Revenue Faiz Ahmed Abbasi and district office holders on the relief activities and the relief needs of the earthquake struck areas. There is no doubt Narendra Modi and Indian government have bypassed Hitler in atrocities in Kashmir, but even today India is afraid of the resilience of Kashmiris and that is why it’s not attempting to end curfew and limitations in the valley, said Sarwar while addressing the media. The opposition can go on to make any alliance, we are not bothered by it , the nation is with us and government will go on to complete its constitutional term and the mission to serve the masses will continue, he said. Whenever Pakistan is faced with a crisis, it unites the whole nation and even today the government along with the nation is standing in support with the victims and we will not rest until the complete rehabilitation of victims is done, he said.

I have assured the AJK government and responsible authorities that we will not abandon them in this hour of crisis and need, the Punjab governor said while responding to a question. The government will appeal to the Pakistani and Kashmir diaspora residing in United Kingdom, United States and European Union (EU) to help in building houses for earthquake victims and the Sarwar foundation will also participate fully in relief activities.
