Sunscreen fallacies that hurt one’s skin

When your beauty aisles are wadding up with sun protection products then choosing an appropriate sunscreen will be a strenuous task.

Come summertime and there is surely something irresistible about sunbathing. The much imperative sun rays are quite alluring but one knows well that this bewitching sun rays lead towards sunburn including dark spots, wrinkles, loss skin elasticity and much more. Due to all these reasons, an excellent sunscreen is the need of the hour.

But wait there is still more; sunscreens do possess troubling agents which secretly damage your skin. One may stay safe from direct sun exposure but applying sunscreen can cause more harm too. Like inappropriately applying a sunscreen may lead to skin damage.

Several essential sunscreen slipups which one tends to make are:

SKIPPING CRUCIAL AREAS — an individual needs to cover all those essential areas with sunscreen which will be exposed to sun rays. But still, people do miss vital spots. Like, they may not be applying sunscreen on their eyelids and lips. As a result of this one may be subject to life-threatening diseases like skin cancer. An individual should opt for such eye creams which have SPF. Like this, their eyes will be protected from harmful UV rays. One can also opt for a general “mineral sunscreen”. Due to the presence of zinc oxide in such sunscreens, one is safe from sun rays. These surely prove to be beneficial for your skin too.

AVOIDING SUNSCREEN WHEN HAZY — it has been proven through several types of research that when one is experiencing no sun rays even then 80% of dangerous UV rays are hitting their skin. According to Dr. Kaufman “People have a misconception about how much sun they get. They don’t realize that you don’t have to lie on the beach to soak up the sun”. One should surely place their sunscreen with their toothpaste. This is vital because they will never miss applying it when they go out during cloudy weather too.

SHRUGGING OFF EXPIRY DATE — is one using the same sunscreen for the past 5 years? Then, people, you are taking an extreme risk. Yes, your skin is screaming to throw that sunscreen away right now. After using a particular sunscreen for the past 3 years it stops providing the same protection to one’s skin. One should check the expiry date before they apply a specific sunscreen on their skin. If one is unable to see an expiry date then they should use logic because they might have purchased it 3 years before.

Choosing the best sunscreen is one of the healthiest choices that a person makes for their skin. But applying it accurately surely counts a lot. An individual should always opt for those sunscreens which are of top-notch quality. Like this, they will surely be saved from several skin diseases too. So, the next time you make use of a sunscreen make sure you consider the up-mentioned points.
