Unapologetic representation at UNGA

Author: Sikandar Noorani

Maiden speech at UNGA forum by Pak PM Imran Khan deserves all praises! Unlike the usual past practice, it was neither a spiritless customary paper reading session nor the speaker was under confident toothless political juggler who managed to reach to the top executive post through effective manipulation of system fault lines. Every word uttered by PM had visible impact upon audience as he spoke his heart out without compromising on any sensitive issue of collective concerns. Four issues raised by Pak PM are of multilateral nature at global canvas. Climate change, free flow of looted money from poor countries to secret vaults of developed world, Islamophobia with a special focus on blasphemy and humanitarian crisis worsening in Kashmir due to Indian atrocities are the issues having enormous potential to destroy the global peace. Obviously, the audience count was not restricted only to those who were present in the hall for a live experience but on ground the number of audience listening the address on media was in millions.

Undoubtedly, PM Imran Khan’s personal charisma always generates a magical impression in attracting the attention of audience at global forums. So by all means, Pak PM successfully build an impressive momentum to accelerate a long diplomatic campaign to safeguard the vital interests of the country. Not only the UNGA address rather whole tour stretched over almost a week time effectively boosted Kashmir issue and strengthened the diplomatic campaigning of Pak foreign office. Speech had stunning effect on western audience who are not used to listening any advice, from leader of developed country of South Asia, on humanitarian issues or social ethics. Prior to dwelling upon Kashmir crisis and RSS threat, Pak PM effectively showed mirror to developed countries for being ignorant about looming threat of climate change, money laundering and Islamophobia. Safe flow of looted money to secret vaults of developed world has played a major role in increasing the poverty scale in under developed countries.

Probably for the first time, the developed countries had to listen a genuine complaint from leader of a country which is badly affected with corrupt practice of massive money laundering. Heavier part of the complaint is that existing laws and prevailing systems in developed countries facilitate the looters, plunderers and money launderers. Undoubtedly, this part of the complaint is the most bitter one as it portrays the developed countries as facilitators of money launderers. This point has largely snatched the moral grounds from forums like FATF where victim countries are being questioned by those who themselves are part of the problem. Views on rising tendency of Islamophobia, blasphemy and labelling of Islam with terrorism truly represented the feelings of whole Muslim world.

While pointing out the grey areas in the western societies, Pak PM impressively adopted a bold and unapologetic tone which indicated his ideological strength and clarity of thoughts. This effective and logical representation of Muslim sentiments on extremely sensitive issue of blasphemy is being widely appreciated in the Muslim world which felt voiceless or muted on global forums to this speech. Powerful narration of the Muslim concerns would effectively lead to generate global debate on these sensitive matters. What came out in this speech on Kashmir crisis, RSS’ extremist cult and Indian state sponsored terrorism in the region was a ‘never seen before’ episode.

Besides exposing real dark side of RSS and Modi, Pak PM sent a clear message to the world that old bad habit of playing games in our region and treating local stake holders as pawns should be discontinued

Eventually, the India had to face a shameful exposure of her blood thirsty mutilated artificial democracy which extracts life from persecution of the Muslims, Sikhs, Christians and poor Dalits. World is shocked after listening just a brief account of ideological roots of RSS, the mother organization of BJP. It will be wrong to say that Pakistan is only concerned about IOK! Actually, Pakistan has successfully warned the world about that looming hazard of extremist Hindu mindset which has no belief on Indian constitution and so called secularism which could only prevail on papers. Kashmir is just a readily available killing field, where after reaching to the power corridors of New Dehli, desperate RSS goons have found multiple opportunities to satisfy their decades long thirst with the Muslim blood. Catastrophe wouldn’t stop here.

Minorities all over the India specially the Muslims are in the crosshair of devilish RSS cult. Grinder has started in Aasaam in the form of writing off the nationality of the Muslims with just one stroke of pen. It is not hard to predict that UP, JharrKhand, Behar, Talngana and Andhra Pardesh will be the next in chain. Pak PM has rightly pointed out the real magnitude of threat which is undoubtedly capable to damage beyond bi-lateral limits. A state sponsored genocide of the Muslims is shaping up in Kashmir. Silence of the world and meaningful mysterious inaction of UNO over prolonged curfew in IOK would add up in radicalization of Kashmiris.

Crux of the speech is absolutely lucid, loud and clear that responsibility of Indian atrocities in Kashmir largely falls on the shoulders of UNO, the highest forum of international community, which if remains unmoved would have no right to ask from Pakistan to refrain from responding to Indian aggression in the same coins with all available force and resources. Besides exposing real dark side of RSS and Modi, Pak PM sent a clear message to the world that old bad habit of playing games in our region and treating local stake holders as pawns should be discontinued. With this Impressive speech at UNGA, PM Imran Khan has emerged as visionary statesman whose effective representation has given a ray of hope to the Pakistani nation which had almost lost interest in such events due to spiritless speeches of past rulers.
