Lahore: After the announcement of the moon sighting in the provincial capital on Sunday, people thronged city bazaars and markets for the last minute shopping.
The heaviest rush was observed on bangle and henna shops where women and children flocked in droves to buy from a wide array of colourful bangles made of either glass or metal.
Moreover, to lure customers, shopkeepers have beautifully decorated their shops with buntings and colourful lights, which add to the festive aura of the markets.
Girls’ accompanied by parents and guardians were busy in purchasing bangles and applying henna on their hands at artistically decorated stalls set up in different areas of the city.
Meanwhile, all major sweet shops and bakers were also crowded with people queuing up to buy sweets and cakes for their near and dear ones.
