FIA arrests man for blackmailing woman via WhatsApp

FIA has arrested a man, Abdul Hafeez, over accusations by a Lahore based female resident, Shabana Naz, alleging that he is threatening to use incriminating ‘private’ material to blackmail her.

According to the reports, Shabana Naz filed a complaint to the FIA that Abdul Hafeez son of, Abdul Hameed, resident of Kahota Rawalpindi has harassed her by means of objectionable private pictures.

The deputy director in-charge of the FIA, CCRC, Lahore has reportedly constituted a team comprising of Maqbool Ahmed HC and Mansoor Hussain FC under the supervision of Ms. Uzma Aslam, Sub-Inspector.

The team has successfully recovered three mobile phones from the accused including objectionable material of the victim. After recovery of the alleged material and sufficient incriminating evidence, the accused person namely one Abdul Hafeez S/o Abdul Hameed R/o Kahota Rawalpindi had been arrested and the recovered mobile phones were taken into custody by the FIA through seizure memo.

Reportedly, a case FIR No. 130/2019 u/s 20, 21 & 24 of PECA R/w 420,109 of PPC has also been registered and the investigation has been entrusted to Uzma Aslam, Sub-Inspector. Additionally, further investigation is being carried out and progress will be followed up accordingly.
